Car Rental Sydney Downtown

Sydney, Australia is an exciting vacation destination for anyone whether you’ve travelled from near or far. Depending on your plane seat, you may have stolen a glance of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge or Opera House as you descended through the skies. Tired and jet-lagged, the ease of hopping into your Dollar hire car from Sydney City will never be more appreciated.

Sydney will be an unforgettable vacation destination due to its mild and temperate climate, endless beaches, and famous locations, like Bondi Beach or the Sydney Opera House, or vast ancient landscapes like the Blue Mountains.

With easy drives to Wollongong and Jervis Bay to the South, Katoomba and the Blue Mountains to the West, and the Hunter Valley and Newcastle to the North, there are plenty of road trips to head on while you’re vacationing in the harbour city. You’ll have a blast exploring what Sydney and its surrounding areas have to offer, and you can do it with ease, thanks to Dollar Sydney City.

Explore Sydney City, with Dollar

There are numerous ways to spend your days while vacationing in Sydney City.

Perhaps take the 30-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay through to Manly. This iconic boat journey has been a “must-do” activity since its inception in 1855. You can see the sights of the infamous Sydney Harbour as you journey through to Manly, the gateway suburb to the Northern Beaches area of Sydney. Manly has some excellent beaches, like Manly Beach and Shelley Beach. Take the return ferry once you’ve finished exploring for the day and have dinner at the Opera Bar. The Opera Bar is nestled underneath the world-famous Opera House and overlooks the Circular Quay and Harbour Bridge. You can enjoy your dinner with some iconic views!

One of the best things about Sydney is its short distance from the CBD through to the beaches. The Eastern Suburbs of Sydney has some of the most famous beaches in the whole of Australia, including Bondi Beach. Travel in your Dollar rental out of the city and drive for approximately 15-minutes east towards the coastal suburb of Bondi - before you know it, you’ll have taken your first steps on the golden-white sand of this famous stretch of coastline. Take the 5-kilometre coastal walk along to Bronte and admire the waves crashing over the Icebergs Pool as you walk past. Perhaps even stay for a dip and a bite to eat before you head on the walk - there are so many options to spend your day here!

Take a Road Trip with Dollar

Take advantage of the road trips available to you with your Dollar rental car.

One notable one is the Blue Mountains, located an hour and a half out west, via the M4 and Great Western Highway. Once here, head to Echo Point and stare at the ancient Three Sisters rock formation. Named after local Aboriginal history, this rock formation is historically and culturally significant, and simply beautiful to look at. Walk down the Giant’s Staircase to stare upwards at them and to take in the endless bushland underneath that glows blue in the sunlight. It’s an incredible trip! While here, we also recommend several hikes that vary in ease: Grand Canyon Hike and Wentworth Falls are both exceptional.

There are plenty of road trips that are worth mentioning, such as the drive along the Grand Pacific Highway through the Royal National Park, Wollongong, and along through to Kiama. Take in the incredible coastal scenery as you drive through and take plenty of stop breaks if you can. There’s also the 40-minute drive up to Palm Beach. Take in the sights from the top of Barrenjoey Lighthouse - it’s a favourite spot amongst tourists and locals alike.

Sydney City has plenty of activities and destinations that will easily fill your days. You will have the vacation of a lifetime with the added ease of transport thanks to your Dollar rental. We look forward to welcoming you to the start of your Australian adventure, with Dollar.
